Livestock in a China restaurant

Water snakes

Land Snakes

Not sure what this is hideous shellfish is. Someone said it's abalone, but anyway it looks scary.

2 enormous lobsters in a tank

Sea Turtles

The above were found in a Guangzhou restaurant I passed. I felt quite sorry for the turtles about to end up on a dinner plate. And the snakes disgust me. Incidentally, this restaurant uses staff on rollerskates to deliver food from the kitchen to the waiters inside. Talk about efficient service.

In the adjoining Henan restaurant I dined in, on the menu was donkey meat! My friend dined in a restaurant where the fresh meat (read...donkeys) were literally parked outside to be slaughtered.

Good luck to tourists dining in China....

If Ikea Sold Cars

Thank God they didn't!

NUDE is the new black

What's the latest shoe fad? You've got it... NUDE shoes.

The whole idea is that these shoes "fade" into your skin tone, making your legs miles long. What exactly is "nude"? Basically, just a fancy term for flesh, peach, beige colours. These create an impression of bareness, that'll go with almost anything in your spring/summer wardrobe.

Here are some inspiring looks...
And here are some celebrities sporting this look....

Do a double-take as Angelina Jolie strides out 'barefoot' in her Lavins

My favourite style icon, Sarah Jessica Parker carries off this look effortlessly in her Sex and the City movie.
Finally, Reese Witherspoon pairs her nude peeptoes with black.

Tiger and SKC Show

I'm proud to announce that Tiger participated in the Singapore Kennel Club Obedience Trials and won 4th placement in the Pre Novice class. He passed the Novice class. Would have gotten 5th if there was a trophy for that.

We started the day really early about 7am. Tiger was obviously distracted in the new place at Singapore Expo and I was so worried. He kept turning his head at every noise and sniffing the floor. I sized up the competition and most dogs looked better prepared than Tiger. He only started preparing in December whereas his classmates had been training at advanced levels already.

At the Pre Novice, I was so nervous. It was the first time for both of us and I didn't know what to expect. Tiger was wonderful however. It seemed he knew that I needed him to be at his best. He gave me his full attention and did so well for the Recall exercise by plonking himself directly in front of me. The judge was very happy with him it seemed.

At Novice, Tiger did relatively well. Until I stepped on his foot during the heelwork. Ouch...sorry Tiger. Otherwise he could have been 4th. Sigh!

Anyway, to say the least, I'm so proud of dear dear Tiger. He's made me so happy as his mommy.

How to Post Youtube Videos on Blogger

For quite some time, I was wondering how to post a Youtube video onto this blog.

I'm using a Mac and it seems that my Windows Media Player download attempt didn't work.

So the easy way to do it is:

Go to the Youtube page with the video you wish to upload. On the right of the video is this...

Click on the "Embed" word and copy the html.

Go to your Blog page under Posting, click "Edit Html" then paste the link. Click "Compose" and see your desired video magically appear.

If you wish to customize the size/border of your Youtube video, there is an 'tool' icon at the end of the "Embed" word. Click on that and select your options.

Voila!

Most $$$ Commercial

This is the world’s costliest Advertisement .

It took 606 takes and re-takes to make this commercial and the total cost was

$ 6.2 million for this 90 second commercial.
You could probably make a movie for that much of money!
Everything is real with no graphics used and still look at the precision.

The team that made this commercial won many awards.

All the physics teachers apparently love to show this to their students. Here you go kiddos...marvel at the beauty of science!

Hedgehog Poop

I was checking out some hedgehog websites when I came across these pictures. Cute eh?

Picture 1: How to tell male from female? Yup you guessed it. The one on the left is male. He has what looks like a belly button. That's the penis. Yup! Those of you out there worrying about size, think of this hedgehog everything time you feel inadequate.

Picture 2: Hedgehog clothes! How cool. That's like a cap and a collar with a little bell attached to it.

And for your update: Sonic and Super are now snoozing. They eat a lot and SHIT a lot. I've been clearing poop several times a day. And yesterday, while I was carrying those two kiddos, they each took turns to poop on me. Super's was especially disgusting. Slightly watery, about 2 cm long each. Interestingly, they love to poop inside the exercise ball. I figured they were experiencing vertigo in the ball. You know, all the balancing gets to them. But I read up. (See, I'm a responsible pet owner.) And turns out that when inside the ball, they feel like all the running they are doing is getting them somewhere. So it makes sense to poop and leave the black stuff far far behind. They can't figure out they're trapped inside the ball. Funny right!

Meet Sonic the Hedgehog

This is Super the baby hedgehog at 45 days old. His girlfriend is Sonic (name courtesy of Nintendo)...and together they are Super Sonic! haha corny!

Anyway, compared to his girlfriend/sister, he's really introverted, nervous and quite cranky. He has no qualms about pricking your fingers if he doesn't quite like you. Most of the time he prefers to lounge in his little makeshift house/cardboard container. (For the record, I'm buying a proper one when I find time to do so...OK?)

Today, I found a small green worm on a vegetable I was about to saute. Heard that worm protein was good for their development, so I offered it to both of them. They declined and of course, I couldn't just leave the wriggling thingy in their tank, so I took it out again.

I proceeded to kitchen with the worm precariously hanging on my toothpick, trying to make up my mind whether to drown it or just throw it, and at the same time, worrying about the worm making its way along the toothpick towards my finger. Then suddenly, the worm sort of had a long plunging fall to my kitchen floor. To my horror and utmost disgust, Tiger my doggy, being his friendly furry self, decided to give it a lick. It disappeared. I looked at my empty toothpick, the floor and Tiger. Then it dawned on me...TIGER HAD EATEN A WORM!!! Yukkks!!!! I was so totally grossed out I can't even begin to describe how horrible it was.

My baby cute adorable sweet Tiger just ate a worm! He's not gonna kiss me for a long long time!

Margiela Artisanal

Margiela Artisanal is Marigiela Maison's line of reconstructed clothing.

The International Herald Tribune states that Margiela is:

a designer who founded his brand 17 years ago in rebellion against what he saw as the galloping consumerism of the 1980s. His winter 1989 show attracted an audience with an advertisement in a Paris free sheet and ended with models wearing the white cotton coats that are the uniform of all Margiela’s staff. Cloth printed with tattoos, vests made from broken crockery, boots with separated toes, sweaters created from army socks and clothes covered in plastic dry-cleaner wrappings were all early signals of Margiela’s fetish for recycling, for unfinished effects and for giving everyday objects a dysfunctional beauty…

Look carefully at the collection below. The models are real live models, not mannequins! Haha gotcha!

Fashion has Gone to the Dogs

These pictures of Rocky are from Luxiaire's blog. I love the droll expression on the dog's face. All dressed in up its 'bandage' dress and silver boots. The dog definitely did it better. Definitely agree with Luxiaire about the dearth of decent canine fashion. The designers should really look into a spin-off of their season's collection for the pets of their loyal customers. It would be cool to wear matching clothes with your beloved pooch.
