Beauty Adventures at Prestige Eyelash and Brows (Part 2)

Here I am, back with the good people at Prestige to do my eyebrows this time.

I was quite apprehensive and excited about the prospect of eyebrow embroidery. I've seen friends do it but never thought to set about defining these arches of mine. The procedure I am doing with Prestige is called 3D Korean Nano Creative Eyebrows.

STEP 1: We first decide on a  eyebrow shape. I was told that I
can go for a straight-browed look which is the rage
now thanks to the all-evasive kpop culture, or I can
stick to a stylish higher arch. In the end we went for
something in between as the arch allows more space
      for eye makeup.

STEP 2: Cleaning off makeup. We started by cleansing all traces of
makeup on my brows. (It is best not to arrive with drawn brows to save time. )

Some careful concentrated effort is used here.

STEP 3: My pretty consultant draws an outline on my brows.

Trying my best to keep as straight a face as
possible so that the brows will turn out even.

Looking very PENsive while checking out the results of the PENciling (lame pun intended) ....and giving a thumbs up to it....

TADAHHHHH!!!! After 15mins, the outline is done. At this point, it does
look quite strange and it was hard to assess whether this is what I would like.
Thankfully, the consultants were very patient in explaining to me the procedure
and final result and made sure I was satisfied with the shape before proceeding.

STEP 4: Some numbing cream is applied.
A piece of plastic is plastered on it to ensure it doesn't dry up.

STEP 5: In this very final and all-important step, the consultant uses
a tool to draw fine hair-like strokes on my brows and fills it with color.
There was little sensation at first as the cream is quite effective.
However, as time wore on, there was some pain on a level of 2/5.
I couldn't see what was going on as my eyes were shut, but in retrospect,
looking at the photo, the sight looks rather horrifying
and my brows look like it might be a disaster.

Truly worrying.

I am having my lashes re-touched at the same time

FINALLY....

Now we can finally have a look at the result. The procedure took about an hour tops. My BEFORE picture shows unruly furry brows while the AFTER picture shows a defined shape. I was sent home with some soothing balm to help the healing process. Be forewarned: there may be a tinge of redness if your skin is sensitive like mine.

If you are going to try eyebrow embroidery, do bear in mind that the pigments on the brows remain dark for a week or less. It is akin to tattoo-ing, except that the color isn't permanent. It is expected to last up to two years. A touch-up in a month's time is due in order to etch the color in more permanently.

I was advised to avoid using oil-based makeup remover on the new brows, and to avoid water (if possible) for 3 days.

I have taken some progress pictures on Day 1, 2,3, and 5, all without makeup so you can see how it looks. I was very worried on the first few days as it seemed like a big mistake. On the fifth day, the scab that has formed over the strokes on my brows start to fall and reveals a very much lightened color much to my relief.

The final result is really very natural and looks like my own eyebrows.

Say goodbye to daily drawing of the brows and say hello to waking up pretty!
